JUNTOS Center for Advancing Latino Health is hosting an event on Saturday, July 15th from 1:00-3:00 pm at the St. John Evangelist Church, located at 2910 Strong Ave, Kansas City, KS 66106. JUNTOS seeks to generate knowledge and disseminate health information to advance Latino health across the state of Kansas and is looking for volunteers to assist with physicals. The event has other services available, such as backpacks with school supplies, COVID and lifespan vaccinations, A1c and blood pressure tests, BMI readings, health information, and resource navigation.
We are looking for 5-6 medical students to assist with conducting physicals for kids ages 5-18, a few Spanish speakers would be great if possible! Volunteers can sign up here on serve.kumc.edu and will be connected with Mariana from JUNTOS for more details as the event approaches. Volunteers are asked to arrive earlier at 12:00 pm to help set up.
