Who We Are
Jay Launch (previously known as Pre-Jays) is a student run organization that organizes peer mentoring between medical students at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and pre-medical students in the Wichita area. The program will allow pre-medical students to ask questions, seek support, and provide lasting friendships within medicine. We emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion among Student Mentors and Mentees through student-led DEI training and workshops at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita.
What We Do
We serve an outreach role to the city of Wichita, mentoring pre-medical students at local universities with intention to guide, motivate, develop, and share skills which may assist the Mentees to achieve their personal goals. We aim to uphold KUMC’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion by engaging Student Mentors and Mentees in development workshops to include cultural humility, implicit bias, and SafeZone training, as defined in the KU School of Medicine’s Diversity and Inclusion policy.
