MISSION:

•      End homelessness for kids in Kansas City through the collective impact approach.

NEEDS:

•      Wednesday Impact Dinner: help prepare and serve dinner to unhoused families

•      Weekdays: help with cleaning, organizing, making food packs, sorting donations

•      Saturday Impact Breakfast Event: prepare and serve breakfast, distribute diapers and clothing, make food packs

•      Childcare team: background check required

•      Impact Wednesday program: Greet, cook, serve, and distribute food/hygiene/clothing during Impact Wednesday program

•      Teach a Class: teach a class on topics geared toward equipping families and individuals with skills for success. Examples: Personal Finance, ESL, Computer Skills, Reading, etc.

•      provides several programs offering positive, pivotal education experience for the children in Kansas City who need it most, including after-school tutoring & mentorship, in-school reading intervention, middle school groups, internships, and summer programs. 

NEEDS:

•      In-School Reading Programs: reading intervention with K-5th grade students, helping them build their confidence and improve literacy skills.

•      After-School Programs: Mentor a student through homework help, reading, and connection. Make a lasting difference by helping a student thrive.

TIME COMMITMENT:

•      In School Reading: 1.5 hours a week

•      After School: 1 hour each week after school, (Tuesdays is most needed!)

•      Pop Up Market Volunteers: Assist with bagging food, market set-up, interactions with guests and vendors.

•      MVP Volunteer Program: Cultivate KC’s Mobile Volunteer Program rotates weekly between farms and community gardens in the Midtown KC area.

•      Volunteer for Public Education and Fundraising Events (event volunteers receive free admission to ticketed events before/after their shift). Events include Earth Day, Farmers & Friends Annual Meeting, Urban Grown Farms & Gardens Tour, and Midtown Hoedown.

NEEDS:

•      Long-term volunteers: CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interests of children who are in the Jackson County Family Court system until they have a safe and permanent home. A CASA Volunteer provides the judge with carefully researched information about the child to help the court make a sound decision about that child’s future.

TIME COMMITMENT:
