Hello Volunteers!
We're happy to see you interested in this need.
Please come join us as we help out our local Wyandotte community in battling food insecurity. Student Community Providers has partnered with the American Indian Enterprise & Business Council (AIEBC) in running food drops at the Metropolitan Baptist Temple every third Saturday of every month. We receive our food directly from Harvester's, a community food network aimed at feeding Northwestern Missouri and Northeastern Kansas.
How will I be helping?
Volunteers are crucial in making sure that we can properly organize and prepare the food that Harvester brings. Much of our food needs to be divided into bags or boxes so that we can give allocated portions to each of the families that arrive at the food drop. Once the distribution starts, volunteers are crucial at handing out food, as well as interacting with the locals, and making sure the process flows as efficiently as possible.
We encourage volunteers to join and experience working alongside community organizations of Wyandotte County and hopefully leave with an appreciation of what they did for their community.
We hope to see you there!
