Description

Come join us this upcoming Monday, September 12th, at Noon to learn about Food Insecurity from one of Kansas City's largest Food Banks, Harvesters Community Food Network.

Harvesters provides food and related household products to more than 760 nonprofit agencies including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes and others. They also offer education programs to increase community awareness of hunger and teach about good nutrition.

Our speaker will be Nathan Howard, Food Program Manager at Harvesters, and he will be speaking on Food Insecurity in Wyandotte County and what is being done to tackle this issue.

We will also be highlighting stories of two students that have collaborated with Harvesters over the past year to address food insecurity at the KU Internal Medicine Clinic and Wyandotte High School.

Location: HEB 2223

Time: 12 - 1 PM

For those that attend, we will be using a lottery system to raffle off 10 Jimmy John's Boxed Lunches!

Finally, a zoom link will be made available on the day to the event.
